Abstract
Abstract: The natural resources of Saddang River and Mata Allo of Enrekang Regency have a
large potential aggregate reserve for building construction materials. In general, the majority of
the surrounding community every time they carry out a development plan always take aggregate
along the river, because it can be used as one of the mixed materials for concrete. The purpose
of this study is to determine the characteristics of fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, compressive
strength value and bending strength of concrete. The research method used is an experimental
method by comparing between 4 variations including normal concrete, fine aggregate of Saddang
River, coarse aggregate of Mata Allo River, and combined aggregate of Saddang River and Mata
Allo River. By using SNI Standard 03-2834-2000 that the characteristic testing of aggregate
materials has met the standard. Mata Allo river coarse aggregate concrete and combined
aggregate achieve compressive strength and flexural strength so that it is suitable for use in
construction, while for Saddang River fine aggregate does not reach and is not suitable for use
in large construction.
