IMPLEMENTASI APLIKASI ABSENSI BERBASIS LOCATION BASED SERVICE (LBS) PADA SMAN 5 PINRANG

State High School 5 Pinrang as an educational institution has the responsibility to create an effective and efficient learning environment. The learning process in schools not only includes academic aspects, but also includes Administrqation, including student attendance management. The goal is to develop and implement a Location Based Service (LBS)-based attendance application, which is designed to make it easier by utilizing GPS technology on students' mobile devices. The research method used is a qualitative approach, including needs analysis, system design, implementation, and application testing which lasts for three months in Pinrang in 2024. The measurement results
showed that at a radius of 3 meters, the attendance success rate reached 86.67%, with two cases of failure due to inaccuracy of distance detection. Meanwhile, at a radius of 5 meters, the application shows a 99% success rate, where all students manage to attend without any failure. In addition, this application provides a notification feature to parents of students via WhatsApp regarding their child's attendance at school. Based on the overall system testing, it can be concluded that this application is an effective solution in increasing student attendance and supporting a better teaching and learning process.
