Abstract

INDRA WANGSAWAN. 2024. Improving Students’ Speaking Skill Using Cake Application at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Parepare. Supervised by Syawal and Amir Patintingan.
The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the use of the Cake Application can improve Students' Speaking Skill in the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Parepare. This research applied the Quasi-experimental method. The population in
this study were tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Parepare in the academic year 2022/2023. The total population was 347 students and two classes out of ten classes were taken as samples by using the Purposive Sampling method.
The results of the data analysis show that the use of the Cake Application can improve students' speaking Skill, as shown in the Post-test result (76.63) is higher than the Pre-test result (64.88), and the t-test value (5.59) is higher than the t-table
value (2.001) at the 0.05 level. This indicates that H1 is accepted and H0 is
rejected. This means that students who were taught using the Cake Application
have better-speaking skill improvement compared to students who were taught
without using the Cake Application.
