Abstract
Uswatun Amalia, 2025. “The Impact of Quran Reading Intensity on the Emotional Intelligence of Students at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare". (Dr. Andi Fitriani Djollong, M.Pd. as the first supervisor and Mr. Makki, S.Ag., M.Ag. as the second supervisor). The purpose of this thesis research is to examine the intensity of Quran reading by students at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare, assess the emotional intelligence of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare, and determine the impact of Quran reading intensity on the emotional intelligence of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare.The research was qualitative in nature and was conducted in the field at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare. Two types of data sources were used: primary data sources, which included students and instructors of Islamic Religious Education, and secondary data sources, which included records and other material, including books, journals, and research-related publications. The researcher themself, criteria for observations, interviews, and documentation are among the research tools utilized. Techniques for gathering data include documentation, interviews, and observation. Data reduction, data presentation, and data collecting are the methods of data analysis that are employed, and conclusions are then drawn. The results of the research obtained were that: 1) The intensity of reading the Qur'an of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare has a significant positive impact on the development of character and emotional intelligence of students, this is proven in students where before students study, students and teachers first read the Qur'an for 2 to 5 minutes after the Dzuhur prayer or before teaching and learning activities begin again, students still take the time to read the Qur'an, not only after the Dzuhur prayer but after other obligatory prayers, students still intensively read the Qur'an, therefore reading the Qur'an has an influence on students.2) This activity helps students manage emotions, increase patience, and improve social relationships. By understanding the values of the Qur'an, students are wiser in facing emotional challenges. 3) Overall, the impact of the intensity of reading the Qur'an on the emotional intelligence of students at SMA Muhammadiyah Parepare is quite significant. However, to optimize the results, collaborative efforts are needed between teachers and students, with a more personal and adaptive approach to the emotional needs of each student.
