Abstract
Polystyrene istype of plastic waste thatdifficult to decompose naturally and becomes microplastic which pollutes the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to utilize the plastic waste in a mixture of road pavement.This study aims to determine the effect of add ing polystyrene to AC-WC and AC-BC on the marshall test based on Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018.. The results shoed that the AC-WC with addition of 4% and 5% polystyrene contenthasstability, VMA, VIM, VFA, flow, and marshall quotient that met the specifications. Meanwhile, theAC-BC with addition of 4% polystyrenecontentdoes not meet the specifications except for VIM and the addition of 5% polystyrenecontentdoes not meet the specifications at all. Utilizat ion of polystyrenein the AC-WC mixture can be recommended as an addit ive in the flexible pavement, while AC-BC is not recommended because it cannot improve the quality of the overall marshall characteristics.
