Abstract

WAHID MUHARRAM. Android-based Room Lighting Level Control
Application (supervised by Ade Hastuty and Marlina).
This research is motivated by the rapid development of technology which has brought significant changes in various aspects of human life, especially in saving energy through the use of technology such as automation systems and the Internet of Things (IoT). The aim of this research is to design an Android-based room lighting level control application to increase the efficiency of energy use. By using experimental research methods, namely system design and tool manufacture as research media, data was obtained through literature study and measuring tool output. The components used include RobotDyn AC Dimmer to regulate the light intensity of the lights, Nodemcu esp826 as a WiFi module to connect the system with Android applications, and Firebase as a data storage platform. An Android application developed using the Kotlin language functions as a user interface to control lighting level settings. System testing involves white box testing and black box testing to ensure the response is in accordance with the application planning
and functionality. White box testing shows the system responds in accordance with the program logic, while black box testing verifies that the application functions
properly, controlling the NodeMCU Esp8266 to achieve the desired lighting settings. Application testing results with Firebase show high accuracy in transmitting values into the database. Test data, which includes slider values and
firebase responses, provides an overview of the performance of applications created with a result of V(G) = 2 from each edge and 2 nodes. With a success rate of 100% in 11 trials with input values starting from 30 to 80, the application is able to effectively manage and optimize room lighting levels, supporting overall energy saving efforts.
